were your parents the type that tried to do the cadaan stuff where they we're adventurous. I mean have you guys gone camping, fishing, hiking, road trips like the Brady punches?

Growing up did your parents took you to your swimming lessons? Did your mom wore a bathing suit?

These questions are geared towards knowing why some of you turned qoomu-luudh and atheist.

I'm just trying to avoid this tragedy.

At the same time I want to raise my children with the most fun that these cadaans are known to do. I don't want them missing out on anything but I also don't want to befall by tragedy like the one that has befallen @Endriam's parents

swimming, skating lessons, hockey, basketball, they let me go on all my school camping trips and some that were organized outside of school, frequent trips to snowy places like quebec city for snowboarding, skiing, tubing. sometimes parents can tag along on those trips and my mom came with me when i was younger. good times.

Are you kidding adeer! For your dad to have done that he has gone beyond the call of duty for a Somali father.

Absent and shitty parents are a big problem. Doing such things for your kids builds self esteem and they shouldn't be in the West if they don't give their kids opportunities to be in extra curricular activities that teach them responsibility and keeps them away from bad influences that they complain about all the time. Parents who work usually do this for their kids, the ones who don't work don't have a care in the world.

Looool my parents were and still are really chill swimming lessons, piano classes, summer holidays every year, so were my grandparents non of my moms relatives wore hijab though not even my granny but they were all still prancing muslims lol my grandparents smoked shisha in the house so they were chill but they made sure we all spoke somali.
