Of course, some refugees, some through marriage, some through long-ago migration.

Most of them are culturally Djiboutian and have their accent, so often you can't even tell.

I am not talking about refugees, I mean I was talking to a lot of Somalis and they know more people in either Zambia, Kenya or Ethiopia than djbouti.
I mean its very common for someone from Mogadishu or galkacyo to move to other African country than djbouti. So why? Is djbouti not more open ?

Djibouti is a small arid country with high-security issues (military bases) and high unemployment rates. They can't afford chaos through mass migration of people from a wartorn country (Somalia).

Migration is limited, but it does happen.

The thing is I heard alot of people saying that djbouti might the Dubai of the horn and considering that they are somalis, they seem to be alittle bit cut off from somalia.

It's slowly developing, but far from the Dubai of the Horn.

Investors are scared away because of the Yemen crisis and Somalia nearby as well.

It's a small city state country that doesn't even have enough jobs for the current citizens the economy is closed since it's a very expensive place and full of poverty soo it wouldn't be a good place to start a business also there isn't much place for housing so can't take immigrants
