Is there anything we could had done to stop our expulsion from the UAE ?

In the early 1990s as more native Arabs became highly educated, a large percentage of Somalis working in government jobs across the UAE was fired and replaced during nationalization of the workforce.

This lead to the mass emigration of the once large Somali Expat community from the UAE ending the era of Somalis finding prosperity in the Oil boom along the Persian Gulf.

The current Somali Community in Abu Dhabi is a shadow of the once thriving community that had tens of thousands of people in its ranks.

I wonder if there was any smart strategy from our side that could had avoided our sudden expulsion from the Emirate many of us once called home.

We move, We are nomads anyway most of them move to the west and to other Arab gulf countries, only a minority went back to Somalia, they were never going to give us sharaci, if we stayed we would been like the timojileec working in the service industry and their reputation in uae are known, and that most of the Somalis that are there now have western passports and work in professions or own their own small business,
