Recently there has been a conflict between the Ciise and Hawiye in Meiso district in Sitti Zone. The ex Hawiye governor of Meiso district was imprisoned by the dominant Ciise administration in Sitti. He was recently released however Hawiye who make up the majority of that district were up in arms and there was a huge amount of tension. It's not the first time there has been a conflict between the Karanle/Gugundhabe Hawiye and the Ciise. So yes there is tension but there isn't any genocide. Somalis are very theatrical. If one person is injured or killed they call it a genocide.
