  • The New American Economy estimates that there are 12,800 Somali-born residents in the Atlanta metropolitan area as of 2020. This represents about 0.2% of the total population of the metro area.
  • The Somali Community of Atlanta estimates that there are over 20,000 Somalis living in the Atlanta area. This number is likely higher than the New American Economy estimate, as it may include undocumented immigrants and Somali-born individuals who were not counted in the census.
  • The Somali American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Atlanta estimates that there are over 100 Somali-owned businesses in the Atlanta area. This suggests that the Somali community is making a significant economic contribution to the city.
Based on these estimates, it is reasonable to conclude that the Somali population in Atlanta is between 10,000 and 20,000 people. This makes it one of the largest Somali communities in the United States.

It used to have one of the largest somali populations in North America in the 90s-early 2000s it was one of the major hubs for resettlement a huge percentage moved away though

New Family Connections Emerging from the Americas: Last year, my cousin from Canada visited the UK upon discovering our family ties here. I also have cousins in Sweden and various parts of Europe. Reflecting on my extensive network, I'm considering exploring new business opportunities.

That’s the most odd expectation you can have from your relatives. Not being peasants kulaha kkk.

There’s Somalis in many parts of the US it’s not just MN. Seattle, San Diego Colombus, Atlanta, Nashville, even Boston all have Somali communities they’re just smaller

I really wish my family settled in San Diego. Growing up in Cali would have been amazing
