They have always been considered Somali only to many yemeni people and not Somali and also Saudi Arab. I remember the comments from Yemeni men living in Yemen being like this. Also being Somali is a great blessing it’s just that the being Saudi Arab part is important for Al Saud too so they can be Saudi and Somali. Also the fact yemeni men versus Somali men for citizenship of yemen is messed up at times. Al Saud being Somali is a win for Somalis in Saudi Arabia. Then being Saudi is a win for Somalis and Saudis. In somethings the Somali is better than the yemeni man seen the laws in Yemen make Somalis like the Al Saud family and people with the Al Saud non citizens of Yemen and even Saudi Arabia.

It will never make sense to me why they’re rarely associated with arabs despite being partly semitic and speaking a semitic language.

Yet somalis are despite not speaking arabic nor being mixed with them.

My dad is Somali and Saudi Arab of Al Saud and a bunch of other families and then my mom’s mother is part Somali from her mom. Al Saud is one of my families for my dad. I am mixed and Adnanite Arab. So I am like Black Arabic like Somali but really I am Saudi Arabian. For Horn of Africa I am Somali and then for the Middle East I am Saudi, Iraqi, Lebanese, and emirati and for North Africa I am Moroccan.
