Most people have multiple families that live abroad, these families can pool together some batches of money for their family back home. Sure there are some people who are ungrateful but at the same time there are those who are in need.
I think if you send money back home it's important to have a goal. Build a well, school, hospital or mosque. All of which are vital for certain communities.
