The Puntites really do adore their Isimo(legimitate ones) with a verifiable history. As we know a 'new' younger generation is at the HELM as the old ones have died. Their performance is atrocious, I am not sure, if it's due to lack of knowledge transfer or other reasons. I say this because of the following reasons.
1. We couldn't resolve SSC issues and it was resolved in Jigjiga after absame was shocked at baharsame/qayad war '100 dead' plus 'imam burnt' alive.
2. Erigavo peace conference between Harti/Isaaq, is a true land-mark moment where cross-clan reconcilation was done.
3. The best we could do at a cross-clan level was in Galkacyo and that concluded in a ceasefire/green line only. I must note tho, HG has green-lines with every clan.
Even our own civil war in 2001, had Warsangeli-Isaaq resolution people.
These trends are very disturbing and it's time the 'families' linked to the old generation ISIMS like myself hold a grand conference to pass on our knowledge, or else I fear, the situation will only get worse.
A true Isim has the following duties
1. Conflict Resolution. It must promote peace within itself and with it's neighbors
2. Clan management. Monitoring families to ensure they excel in Education-Religious-Business-Political domains and setting up 'mentors/tutors' for them or 'capital' routes.
3. Clan survival and setting up new locations that their clan civilian can flee
4. Setting up a soldier route for males who are not productive in this world or drug addicts(khathead). Ensuring the one's selected have male childrens.
5. Managing clan war quota so the clan isn't over-supplying and harming it's population pool.
I know the role of Isims at a 'nabadoon' level, it may be different at 'garaad, islan, boqor, sultan' level. The TRUE 'nabadoon' with 'history' are not on TV talking about current matters, but quiet and working in the background for it's clan.
