I recently heard that during the founding of the SYL, one had to swear on the Quran they would only identfiy as Somali and not by their clan, till the day they died.
Is this true and should we bring it back?

They might've been exempt but the concept of it is fascinating and could possibly work. Whoever did break it could be publicly shamed. That way we have a deterrent.

We should do this in schools.
Kinda like how Americans schools do some allegiance to the flag sorta thing.
