Personally it’s worked out for me. I have 2 wouldn’t say close but somewhat yes, male friends.
eventually, feelings would be had, whether you for them, or them for you, especially if you guys hang out alone.

exactly. so it's haraam, for good reason. the man or the woman is goign to want to go furhter than friends. at that point, do the halal thing: marry them, then you can talk to her all you want.

No just friends nothing more and nothing less. Besides most of my lady friends have a bf and I have a wifey so it can never happen.

I somewhat share the same opinion as you but idk i have had females who I considered as "friends" in the past and there were no strings attached and i could see myself having some in the future
but at the same time ik that if they're pretty I'd end up having feelings for them, also doesn't help that all of my female "friends" in the past were let's say "not attractive"

I can see why you could argue that they don’t work out lol. I’ve had a old male friend confess their feelings to me. Pretty awkward
