I reported. The indian shoppers lady demonstrated hostility, cutting corners and just being racist at the kid. She needs to get fired.
full context from the video:
Also for anyone asking for background info, it’s too long for the caption so I’ll put it here: My brother went to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Almon Street in Halifax before closing. Another customer and he were waiting outside because the doors were locked early, even though people were still shopping inside. When the employee finally came out, he told her the store doesn’t close until midnight and that she shouldn’t be locking up early. She replied, “I don’t get paid after 12 a.m., but if you’ll be done by 12, I’ll let you in.” He said that was fine since it wasn’t even 12 yet, went in, grabbed a few things quickly, and went straight to self-checkout. She stood there watching him, saying, “It’s 12 a.m., you said you’d be done by now,” with attitude. He said, “It’s not, but anyways, I’m checking out.” She started yelling things he couldn’t make out, repeating that she doesn’t get paid at 12. He couldn’t understand why she was raging at him when there were other people still shopping whom she didn’t seem focused on, and said, “It’s not my problem, there are still people shopping who’ve been here longer than me.” She continued to rage at him while he ignored her, and when he went to leave, the exit doors were locked, leaving him trapped inside. He asked for her name and manager—she took off her tag and hid it. That’s when he started recording. As soon as she saw his phone out, she lunged at him, tried to grab his phone, and blocked him from leaving. His items fell to the floor as he tried to protect his phone—that’s the moment in the video. When he re-entered to get evidence of what happened, she came at him again. Other shoppers and what looked like off-duty employees saw it. She then ran toward the pharmacy area. No manager showed up. One man—presumably an employee—swore at him while another finally quickly unlocked the door so he could leave. The staff present acted beyond crazy, disorganized, and unprofessional No one asked if he was okay. He was racially profiled, disrespected, and physically confronted for no reason. Multiple white customers were still inside, and she didn’t say a word to them. She was fixated on him from the start.
