26th June : Somaliland gains independence from the UK
27th of June: Djibouti gains independence from France
1st July: Somalia gains independence from Italy
Whether you are from Somalia, Djibouti or Somaliland this is a week to celebrate the freedom of the somali people. Many somalis died for our people and even if they had different views they envisioned a future where somalis could be free from oppressive western powers. Unfortunately their dreams did not become true because of our divisions but we should follow the examples of our past heroes who were able to work together to achieve independence. Instead of hating each other let's use this week of celebration to think about the things that makes us similar and remember the martyrs who lost their lives for the sake of our people. We may have our differences but between I want my people to be free because all somalis are my people even if i don't agree with some of them.
I Don't care if you are a separatist Somalilander or a unionist. Hambalyo to all somalis around the horn of Africa and the world.

When SL finally gets diplomatic recognition will neighbouring Somalia still celebrate a day (June 26th) that doesn't concern them? Neither SL nor Somalia celebrates Djibouti's June 27th day

You won’t get any recognitionπŸ˜‚ .You couldn’t for 30yrs when Somalia was under full anarchy what makes you think now.
1) Xamar controls your airspace
2) All of the embassy of SL are based in Xamar
3) When landers go abroad like Turkey they using Somali passport and visa
4) Use the same telephone code as Somalia +252

No such thing as Somaliland, stop trying to appease Isaaq you doqon.

British protectorate signed treaties with all major tribes (Isaaq,Warsengali,Dhulbahante etc). It was never a unified state but a lose collection of tribes!

If the AMISOM-government was all that why couldn't they stop the berbera port deal?

I think all three countries should celebrate each others days.
Wether you like it or not the history of SL, Somalia and Djibouti are connected

I'm pro Somaliweyn and against any kind of separatism but Somaliland is a reality, we can't pretend they don't exist. They are de facto a country even though not recognized

Wow, I am shocked. I commend you for your sound reasoning. But do you realize you are a minority amongst your fellow Somaliweyn crowd, in having the above common sense ?

Somalis from all political ideologies are a bit delusional sometimes.
Pro Somaliweyn people ignore Somaliland and still say it doesn't exist. That's delusional.
At the same time though pro Somaliland folks are sometimes delusional when they say they are approaching recognition every time anyone says something good about them.
The reality on the ground is that Somaliland is de facto independent but De jure(legally) still part of Somalia.
Both sides should act rationally and talk to each other to determine the future of SL and Somalia

If Somalilanders Where Real About Their Indenpedence Then Shed The Name Somali From Your Name Cause Nobody Is Taking It Seriously Take Note From Catalonia But They Have More Legit Reason To Seceed From Spain Than Y'all
