From what I've read, it appears that the auditors bodyguards were not involved in a gun battle as earlier reported. In fact, it seems Siraaji didn't have any bodyguards with him whatsoever.

It wasn't the army that killed him ! It was private bodyguards, the red berets.

The one that shot him is reported to have pointed his gun at another officer just few days prior. The man was a ticking time bomb.
