Immodest clothes at somali malls: karameel & 24 mall

I don't know what's going on with the somali mall karameel and 24 mall. I've noticed in the last few years it is hard to find jilbabs there. There used to be many stores that sold jilbab. Now most stores only sell the small child qimar or wrap around for women. While they are both beautiful, it ain't my style. The few ones that do still sell jilbabs, they sell the ugly color jilbab or bad material ones. There are no sakor jilbabs, no jilbabs made from good quality materials, and no various colors.

Fine. Forget discussing jilbabs since many of you might not wear one and don't see it as your prob. Let's talk about abayas then. The abays at these malls used to be beautifully designed and modest. They were mostly closed abayas. All abayas these days are open. It is hard to find a close beautiful abaaya. The ones that are closed have very little plain designs on them. It's like the manufactures decided to put all effort on the designs on open abayas and make the closed abayas plain as hell. I can't find modest beautiful abayas made from amazing materials anymore.

When i wear some of my nice old abayas out, many somali ladies asked me where i found that kind of abaya cuz they can't find abaays similar to that anymore. Some already knew i was wearing an old abaaya cuz the flair out effect isn't in style at muslim and somali malls. Its currently all flat and open.

If i find a modest abaya, its material is bad or it has plain designs. If i find a nicely designed abaya, it's usually open or the material is of low quality. It's mostly the same for other muslim stores too. It's like open flat abayas has shook the muslim fashion world :dead:

You lucky you have a somali mall, in the UK despite our massive population we don't even have any big somali stores and most somali clothing shops are sold by Sikhs.

In Birmingham UK the Somali stores prefer to sell skin tight abayas that are so revealing it’s almost better to wear jeans or trousers.. it’s like some force is behind the oversexualization of the next Somali female generation.. it just swooped in changed the entire dress code of young British Somali girls.. there are days I cross the road to avoid looking at the girl walking in front of me. I can literally see shape of her underwear pushing through her abaya..

May Allah bring back the sunnah in the dress code of ummah
