Newark is a notoriously racist area and from research it seems like the police aren't even willing to consider this an act motivated by hate. Rather they're just saying it's violence.

No doubt he was killed by someone looking to kill a Muslim. Perhaps to imitate the new Zealand shooting by killing more.

Regardless it is beyond sad.

I've been to Newark in 2007; we had about 7 or 8 hours to kill. It was a very scary place then and I'm sure it still is. Unfortunate to hear about his death.
