However I'm anti-partition and separatism involving both those states , Somaliland is the 1960 border claims and Puntland with its mother of federalism claims


Puntland did revive the Transitional Government in Xamar thus legitimizing its presence in the national level , this is when Puntland was made up of villages mind you which was the least urbanized in Somalia.


Somaliland with its post war trauma rescinded it's union with Somalia opting to gain back its short- lived independence from 1960. They have for the most part thrived in keeping up the democratic image and sold their governance model to their allies..



Where do I stand as someone who has family that hails from Somaliland?

yes axmed siilaanyo did visit the place but it still under Puntland control , it was a surpise visit siilanayo stayed there just for one day the eastern part is claimed by somaliland but they dont control , it since 2008 SOmaliland and puntlandfought over eastern sanaag dhahar to be exact but every time Somaliland attempt to take control over badhan and dhahar they lost to puntland one can say due to many factors , warsangali always switching side to puntland when ever Somaliland comes to close i still believe warsangali have clear stake in puntland then they have to Somaliland
