Why do us females get looked down on when we marry out of our race? When men marry some Caucasian naag it is seen as normal and the aunts are not gossiping about them 24/7. I advocate for Somali women marrying an ajanabi if they do not want to marry a Somali :sass1: :manny:

i agree walaal, confused kids are not good thing on both sides but let's not act self hater
Okay laakin think about it this way, if that individual does not want to marry a Somali we cannot do anything about it. If they want to marry an cadaan, they can as long as their happy

I'm not gonna hold a gun to anyone who marries out but I personally don't want to marry someone who isn't a horner. Being similar to your partner in terms of language, culture, phenotypes, religion is important to me.

Or maybe Allah might send some random ajnabi girl my way and there's nothing i can do about it, what happens will happen

In early times when tribes raided each other, those that succeeded would kill the men and take their wives as their own. Once a wife had been taken, she now belonged to the adoptive tribe. In essence, she was a "war bride". The same rings true today. When a woman marries out of her tribe, she is perceived as leaving the tribe in it's entirety.

This is just evolutionary psychology - I'm not commenting on the morality of it.

Men can spread their seed to both their women and the enemy’s women. While a female’s can only hold one child at a time

It’s a sad dilemma to look at it but from a backwoods Somali perspective it’s seen as preserving our culture, diin, mothers, and sisters. You want ensure that they’re in good hands. Undoubtedly Somali women do share those accolades and values with Somali men. That is why it’s a taboo when Somali women step out of that normalcy.

I have observed that mixed children in general (but particularly mixed Somalis) end up adopting the culture and customs of the ethnicity their mother belongs to. In short - even though mixed children with Somali mothers are not seen as Somali, they end up being "more Somali" in practice
