I'm convinced Luuq, Gedo is the most defensible town in Somalia.

We aren't in the 19th century anymore all of these geographic advantages can be easily undermined with modern technology. Any militia worth its salt can drone strike your first line of defense then rush the city.
Maybe were you live but in Somalia they're living 18th century style mindset with 21st century amenities

This just natural geographic defenses. Trenches on/along the riverbanks plus fortified positions at key chokepoints and highground could make Luuq into one of the most strategically important cities in Somalia especially in case of armed conflict against Ethiopia.
Ethiopia already invaded Luuq and its the only reason the current administration even exists.

The average mortar can reach the center of Luuq even from the furthest edges with no difficulty. We are past the ages of horses and small rifles. Nobody is going to enter that chokepoint in 2025.

LG gang we gon slide for my nigga 🤐🥷
I'd like to introduce you to Vietnam and Afghanistan. Both countries have difficult terrains which gave invading forces a hard time
I'm not even gonna bother wasting my breath trying to explain to you how invading countries and invading a tiny village is not the same at all.

Wow that's surprising as I know macalinwayn militias have been contesting the area.
I don’t know how reliable that information is, I don’t bait wanna be my job, but we help displace communities. The RX were unfortunately the most vulnerable and in that neck of the woods.

I’m just going of headline I know there was clashes between the two.

Ngl I was thinking that for a minute. Artillery could tear must cities up in Somalia if uncontested.

You underestimate geography too much. There is a reason gruella warfare can be successful
Geography doesn't matter when it comes to a small village like luuq worst comes to worst nighas can swim across the water an start breaching it wouldn't be the first time that's been done before.

It wouldn't even get to that though cause overwhelming force can break through whatever roadblock they set up on the bridge will get blown to bits with RPGs grenades drones or helicopter strikes. You mentioned Afghanistan and Vietnam let me explain the difference a couple airstrikes from a fighter jet wouldn't put a dent in those countries Luuq on the other hand could get singlehandedly blown to smithereens by one single fighter jet in the air. Also Vietnam has jungles with tons of hiding spots and miles of man made tunnels they can travel thru and attack without the other side even knowing. Afghanistan has gigantic mountains surrounding it those have caves they can hide around in and setup bases plus the mountains give them a huge height advantage they can snipe the shit out of em without em seeing it coming. Luuq on the other hand is flat with very little trees (at least not enough in the actual city for them to effectively use) it's like shooting fish in a barrel you cant compare the three.

My original thoughts assumed you were on about geographic advantages globally not just Luuq. That village is useless indefensible shit I'm not here to deny that.
