Building an Iranian Relation should be a top priority for Galmudug, our relations with Iran and other allies, should after stabilising the state be that of Economic, Arms and Troops buildup, an armed Iljeexs only serves the peace it will bring to Somalia and the regions as a whole.

I'm surprised no one else commented on this. If real, this is a significant development, especially since they are no doubt meeting with Kheyre (who is still there after over a month).

I believe it is the first time Iran has publicly dealt with Somalia since HSM cut ties with them for a $50 million 'I owe you' from Saudi Arabia that never came. The only contact we have had with Iran since that is their weapons being found in terrorist hideouts across the country and them illegally fishing off of our coast.

We know that the GCC-Qatar dispute is ongoing with Qatar, Turkey, and Iran on one side and Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Egypt on the other.

So far two of Mogadishu's best friends, Qatar and Turkey, are very much present and active in the south. It was only a matter of time before Nabar iyo Naxdin opened the door to Iran as well.

It is clear that both Qatar and Iran have big plans for Galmudug. It was only a month ago when Qatar dropped an obscene amount of weapons there. Iran coming shortly after is not a coincidence.

Somalia is known to have some of the largest uranium deposits in the world with most of it being in central Somalia, Iran is known for their nuclear weapons program and Qatar has promised to build a port in Hobyo. The math here isn't complicated.

The weird thing is that, nearly two years ago, Farmajo's government warned the international community of exactly this.
https://africatimes.com/2017/09/02/...ans-access-to-uranium-now-in-extremist-hands/
“This issue can be summed up in a single word: uranium,” the letter said. “Al-Shabaab forces have captured critical surface exposed uranium deposits in the Galmudug region and are strip mining triuranium octoxide for transport to Iran.”

Somalia’s sizable uranium reserves have been known since at least the 1980s, according to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) documents that map surface-level deposits in and around the Galmudug region.

Although Somalia cut diplomatic ties with Iran last year, the United Nations Security Council has long expressed concern over the shipment to Somalia of arms originating in Iran. An October 2006 report to the Security Council specifically linked Somalia to Iranian interest in a uranium-for-arms exchange, a threat with a feasibility that was widely dismissed at the time.
The Qatar crisis began two months before this report. It seems that Farmajo has become closer to Qatar and Qatar closer to Iran since then.

Consorting with Qatar is one thing but doing so with Iran is something else entirely. The GCC is very sensitive about Iran. Then there is the U.S. and U.K. who are also on very bad terms with them. This is a risky move that will anger many powerful countries and the benefit for Nabar iyo Naxdin is not clear yet. It will be interesting to watch what happens next.

Its like when we played both sides with Russia and USA during Cold War days.

Arabs have played us, bring on Turkey and Iran.
