If the arms embargo is lifted Somali Federal States will be able to import arms freely, according to the constitution

Until the people in power have matured I don't think the embargo will be lifted. These are the same people who let aid food be sold on the black market, can you imagine what they'll do with top quality military equipment? There should be a crack down on corruption and those that cause discord and then we might see the embargo lifted.

Reewin. Lixda Gobol ee Maayland unii leh!
This just means that the FGS won't be able to dominate the federal states. The status quo will remain and federal member states will have same power as the FGS. This may even lead to confedaralism.

^^What is stopping Somaliland to also have an Air Force in that case? Or SWS? or JL? Or GM? Or SSC?
What kind of canjeero dastuur is this:susp: Whoever wrote it hates somali :deadrose:

Galmnus, SWS and harshible are all poor federal stats barely functioning without the help of the government. Only puntland jubaland and Somaliland can afford for Air Force.

No one in Somalia can afford an air force including the FG. Only way for us to estabilish that is by barrowing money, and no, there should never be a country with 6-7 different air force. Anyways, where in the constitution does it say that? @Burqad

Why does every region and clan have weapons of war.

All of these weapons must be seized by the government if you want any semblance of national security.

There should be 1 army, navy and airforce.
Loyal to 1 flag.

Inshallah we never come to that, I want the federal government to seize power across the nation and for the government to have structure.
Our interests contradict. I want to see a Puntland tank division

somaliland isn’t a federal state or a recognized country , so they can’t import heavy weaponry until they rejoin

Well you’re gonna have to find a common understanding or both of you will stay poor backwards and you’re people on the brink of famine.

That's what happens when you don't have a clear 'winner' in a war, who usually writes the end terms. When you instead have different factions, the only way of satisfying them without causing further instability, is giving in on their power demands. Hence, the constitution we have today.

To be frank, we don't even have a constitution in practice, lol. Both FGS and FMS can violate it without any repercussions. No courts or even institutions to speak off. It's all about might; if you can survive on your own, then you can even ignore the existence of a country and operate outside of it. Somalia exist only on papers :dead:

The day Somalia is reborn, after getting rid of foreign entities and reconcile political differences so we can establish a proper government and no longer be a trusteeship, is when we have to re-declare our independence. Until then, it's embarrassing to call ourselves a nation :ohlord:

I think the federal government should destroy these clan states and seize power. This in my estimation is the best outcome for us as Somalis. We cannot tolerate this zero sum game forever.

Are you serious?!?! Do you want forever wars? :dwill:

Some of the current FMS can challenge FGS. And trying to destroy them will only lead to bloodsheds and possibly end whatever remaining of a country we have today. FGS should *never* use violence against fellow Somalis due to political differences, unless an entity/people declares war on the government, such as AS. It doesn't matter if we have clan states or anything else. Instead they need to work with the reality from the outcome of the civil war and find common grounds.

As on now, the threat of AS possibly taking over post-ATMIS need to be dealt with before anything else. Once they are eliminated, then we can move on to 1p1v to move the country forward. If the people in 'clan states' prefer their current maamul, the government needs to respect it. If they don't, then the government can intervene and re-structure. But nothing should be done against people's will.

It's what we call "ha yaacdo" country. If you got the money and militia, do you. But in this case it HAS to be fake news. Couldn't find the article OP referenced. If it's not, then those who wrote it should be declared the enemy of our people :damn:
