Still in use to this day, we use Waaqoyi(north), one of my favourite quotes states, "Words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts. There are seven words that will make a person love you. There are ten words that will break a strong man's will. But a word is nothing but a painting of a fire. A name is the fire itself.”

This is why it's important to give children traditional Somali names, names are powerful, and they have a deep-rooted connection with our past and future, we must not lose the connection..

The Arabs were confused about the Somalis They are sometimes called Somalis (habesha) and other times called Somalis (the Sudan) , and most of the times called Somalis the (Berbers) or Al-Zayla'ah .
Don't forget Portuguese writing about us calling us moors
