I know this kinda sounds pessimistic but even a 100 years from now there will be little to no changes in Somalia... I mostly feel sorry for people in functioning regions such as Puntland and Somaliland.. Maybe give Somaliland recognition and every other state who wish to go their own seperate way..

PL and SL are just as corrupt, backwards, and slow in progress as the rest of Somalia. It’s no secret that SL funds AS and the diversity of the South only increases the danger.

That being said, AS will be exterminated in the near future, these former cab-drivers will age and the younger generation will advance the country.

Horta it hasn’t even been 50 years of conflict. We’ve seen progress before the Ethiopian war and had hiccups on the way but that’s just how the course of things go.

How are Puntland and Somaliland more 'functioning' than the south?

Everything has improved from how things were like 10 years ago. Everything. Things are not perfect but Alxamdullilah. We are seeing an upward trajectory, a slow one but still an upward one.

Somalia is always going to be relatively poor even compared to most African countries. If you ran a computer simulation on Somalia a million times there'd always be a cap on the level of development that's much lower than the likes of DRC/Gabon/Mozambique due to a limitation on natural resources. Even bigger more violent hellholes like the DRC, south Sudan or the Central African Republic have vastly, vastly bigger prospects than us due to that. Somalia's biggest issue isn't terrorism or tribalism, the root of all it's issues is that it's a stupidly resource poor nation, of course you work with what you have, but it is what it is.

It's not all doom and gloom, Somalia has been recording improvements every year for around a decade now, in 2050 it is going to have a much, much higher quality of life for the average person than it is currently despite the population growing constantly.

To sum it up, Somalia by the latter stage of this century is probably to be around current Algeria/South Africa/Tunisia level of development, but somewhere like Ghana/DRC/Tanzania is probably going to resemble current Germany in it's development. it'll still be poor in comparison to the rest of Africa but it's quality of life is going to improve greatly

Somalia needs a secular communist/socialist government. Industrializing the nation and nationalizing all of our resources is key. Once we reach independency in terms of self resilience and build the infrastructure of our cities, then we can open up like china and become more capitalistic. This will pave way for us to globalize our nation and not only make it suitable for living but also a tourist hub.
We can tax a whole bunch of ships that go through our maritime trade routs as they invest in our ports. From a blue port economy, to minerals, and other natural resource we do have potential in the coming decades. Our younger generation needs jobs at the moment not a bunch of diaspora businessmen sucking the locals production and that is why for us to stand on our feet like the Soviet Union has and china has, we must accept a Socialist economy until we are mature enough for a free market.

somalis hate to be criticized and being told the truth . They act religious and even make sure to not miss a single prayer but they support the dulmi that goes in somalia .as long as raping and robbing miskeen unarmed .5 clans and other clans are seen as normal then no doubt we will be cursed and remain the poorest country on earth add to the fact that no politician wants to leave their position of power when their mandate finishes that's a whole recipe for a failed state forever .
