I was asked a Question today that I couldn’t answer

I was asked if Muslims believe Jesus (as) and Muhammed (saw) were both prophets. Why do Muslims only make noise when non-Muslims depict Muhammed (saw)?

I answered that Christians depicting Jesus (as) isn’t the same as a non-Muslim doing a disrespectful caricature of Muhammed (saw).

Then they said, there are countless disrespectful caricatures of Jesus (as) by people who hate religion. They said Charlie Hebdo has made much more disrespectful caricatures against Jesus (as) than Muhammed (saw). They’ve been disrespecting him regularly for 50 years. So why do Muslims not have the same energy? I’ve never heard of these caricatures so I went and looked it up and it was true. For your sake don’t look up Charlie Hebdo and Isa (as).

That question did get me thinking though. I understand we are Muhammed (saw)’s Ummah and that caricatures of Isa (as) are probably directed to Christians than Muslims but I can’t see the logic in having riots over one caricature and being mute over another. These caricatures not only disrespect Isa (as) but Yahya (as) and Maryam (as) too.

Wow never thought about it that way. Even though I use to see lots of caricature about nabi isa I never felt anything since I thought they were targeting Christians.

It’s for us to defend isa (saw) identity and name from the kuffars if the Christian are doing it.
It doesn’t matter if the Christian was the ones who drew him or made the joke about him first. He is the prophet of Allah and to us. Not only that he is top 5 greatest prophet mankind along side with (musa, Ibraheem, Muhammad, nuh) saw. So yes us Muslim we really don’t defend the name isa saw that much to the point we see random atheist make fun of him. We should really defend him the way we defend prophet Muhammad it’s our duty to protect him from the kuffars.

I’m not talking about the depictions of Isa (as) by Christians but the disrespectful caricatures done by Athiests like Charlie Hebdo. You know they are depicting Isa (as). Just search it up, the things they draw are so vile. They disrespect the hell out of Isa (as), Yahya (as), and Maryam (as). How can a Muslim only get mad at a caricature of Muhammed (saw) but not the rest?
