I think they coined a word for Autism in Somali language.

I was watching a video of Somali ladies talking about autistic who died in St. Cloud Minnesota US. They referred the kid as maangaar. She said “Talaadadii ina soo dhaaftay cunug yar oo Soomaali, maangaar ah oo nabad qaba ayaa iskuulka la geeyay.” Last Tuesday, a Somali autistic kid with no issue was taken to school. I love it. It is catchy too. I do not know who coined it but it is beautiful. What do you think ?

maangaarnimo = autism
Maangaar = autist

Maan = mind
Gaar = special

Xanuunada Dawnis :ftw9nwa: because it was named after some guy called Down. Something like jir-gaar sounds weird so how would you characterise the main thing about down syndrome because i still dont know what it is properly
