...And Hartinimo. I would appreciate it if Hawiye, Isaaq, Dir and others refer to us using our preferred titles. Most of us (MJs) do not support the Daroodist ideology.

    Regards,

    The Duchess

You're going to have to come up with your own origin story then. What's the name of the Arab that crossed the sea and founded your clan?

She denounced/renounced the ideology, not her lineage

@Duchess That is fine I will support you inabti . I also renounce the fake "Isaaq" ideology, I hereby request Darood and Hawiye
members to use our prefered titles (Garhajis/Habar Yoonis).

This is correct. I reject Daroodism not Darood. I am closer to a Dir in Puntland than a Darood in NFD. The lineage divides us, but ideologically we are the same.

This is progress. We are moving away from qabil labels and towards politics/ideology. Everyone should get behind this.

I renounce all qabiil talk....we had no control over our qabiils. Some are even lies and myths that were made up to create a false non-existent hierarchy. But I guess it's easier to take credit for something we have no control over then to actually try to make a difference in our communities, empower ourselves and educate ourselves. We rather belittle, separate, curse, cuss and take credit for a made up division that comes in the form of qabiils. We rather fight over borders created by white supremacist colonizers who benefited from dividing and conquering us. We rather perpetuate the hate and brain-cell killing debates on qabiils. AMAZING.

Race is a social construct, qabil is a myth, but it still doesn't lessen the impact it has on our day to day lives. Enough about that though, tell me more about this hierarchy. Who's at the top, who's at the bottom, where does your qabil fit in?:mjohreally:

We all know how certain Somalis belittle certain somali groups and how they use qabiils as a form of caste system where some people from certain qabiils aren't allowed to marry into a certain family and there's a stigma surrounding them. Some people are ashamed to talk about their qabiil because of that stigma and myths surrounding their qabiil. They are made to feel small and dirty based on a lie that was told. If you are in a position where you can boast about your qabiil...understand how privileged you are to be able to do that...recognize your positionality and understand others aren't able to do so because of stigma and ignorance. That's why I won't share my qabiil because I choose to stand in solidarity with other Somali people who are shunned from doing so. Plus I have no control over my qabiil so why take credit for it?
