I miss when Somali weren’t « famous »

I remember someone in the house shouting their head off when Somalia was on the news. Before 2010s, Somalia was never on the mainstream news, maybe 5 times over the space of a decade. I remember how we all used to drop what we were doing and run to crowd around the tv to see the news from home. It was always bad.

The only famous Somalis like Iman and Waris Dirie were already old and forgotten by that time. We had no representation and the only popular culture reference was Black Hawk Down.

And now what we have ? Somali famous personality who glorify drug dealing and gun violence. Young Somalis kill each other in gang related violence very regularly, fucking social medias and these low 69Iq humiliating us every time they have the opportunity.

May Allah destroy Earth at this point.
