In return for that singular and historic gift of security, would the Government of Somalia and the citizens of Mogadishu be prepared to relinquish all claims to Somaliland in every form and iteration, accepting Somaliland’s full and permanent separation from the Somali state? In short: would you trade Somaliland for the immediate disappearance of the insurgent threat?
To the people of Garowe Puntland
Suppose a constitutional bargain were put before you: abandon federalism and embrace a centralised state, but with one non-negotiable provision the national capital would be located in Garowe or elsewhere within Puntland . Would Reer Garowe accept a unitary, centralised system of government on the condition that political power, the seat of government and the prestige of statehood are anchored in Puntland’s capital?
To the people of Jigjiga (Somali Region, Ethiopia)
Consider a proposition for Somali Galbeed the Somali Region or the ogaden region to become a wholly independent country The price of that independence would be the transfer of Kismayo and Jubaland to Marexaan leadership Jubaland would cease to be governed by the Ogaden authorities and madoobe will be gone, and control of the southern part of somalia would pass to Marexaan hands. Would Reer Jigjiga accept the full sovereignty of Somali Galbeed on these sort of exchange in order to have one they have to let go of Jubbaland that is the only way somali galbeed will be free of ethiopia.

Eastern Sanaag, Sool minus the caynabo district would revert to the Somali state Somalia or puntland and those areas would be excluded from the internationally recognised borders of Somaliland. Would the people and political leadership of Hargeisa accept recognition under such a compromise that effectively cedes the Darood-inhabited eastern territories indeed?
