Before i log out from this forum, Us landers shouldn't get excited or hope for the US to recognise us as they only want one thing which is a port to target Houthi rebels where this can consequently target innocent civilians in Yemen, etc. You really think they want what's best for us? I opened my eyes they would probably deploy Israel for a port which is not morally OK since they're killing innocent Muslims. We should find other ways to get recognised without selling Somaliland for blood.

Sxb in order to gain something you first have to give something up, US has bases all over the world whether they have one in SL or not is irrelevant also Houthis aren't our brothers.

This is the desperate lengths the enemies of Somaliland are going to. Red sea security is something that interests many countries. Many countries have an interest in seeing the houthis put under pressure. There is an opportunity for Somaliland. I don't see why citizens of Somalia are so invested in Somaliland's independence, it really doesn't concern you at all unless you live in Somaliland.

Sorry but no one is going to a recognize Somaliland as a neutral state, friend of everyone. Other countries have interests not friends.

Some people htink its' a good idea to remain a region of Somalia but I don't see the benefit. FGS has zero continuity, Somalia is not considered safe for investment, FGS cannot deliver sustainable investment. Independent Somaliland would have much better prospects but you have to pick a side.
