I changed my opinion on race, I now identify as black

As most of you know I was a prominent black/bantu-basher on here. But as of recent I’ve begun to embrace my black identity and I view myself as black. I feel liberated in a way. I’m not trolling.

As a lurker of this site for a long ass time, I've run into so many threads of this tired and played out discussion of the Somali race. Here's my opinion that seems the most logical to me:

We are black, yes, but that's only thing we share with Bantus is our color. We are a Cushitic people and I think that should be our racial classification alongside Habesha/Afar/Oromo/Beja people. Us Horn Africans are distinct from Niger-Congo people and the Berber/Arabs in the North. We have separated from these two groups (Bantus & Berbers) for such a long time that we cannot group ourselves with either of them.

In short, you are neither Black nor Arab as BLM loving traitors or the sandnigga appropriators want you to believe. You are a Somali Cushite. Forget what anyone else thinks.

Life experience. Travelling. Travelled to somewhere with hardly any black people, the few black people I saw (regardless of ethnicity) all smiled at me and spoke to me. That’s when I realised that to everyone else, we are black, so we might aswell accept it. Learning more about African cultures and seeing the similarities to Somali culture. Blacks are a great race and I’m proud to be black wallahi.

I meant that we are black by our color. But even that's a flimsy argument b/c Indians can by as dark as any black-skinned person and there are people like Australian Aboriginals that are more genetically related to Chinese people than the Bantu. What would you classify them as?

But yeah, I know my skin is black, and I have no problem when people call me black. But I just wonder why the Chinese man doesn't call himself yellow? Or the Japanese or Korean? That's b/c color is a Western concept, and we'd be fools to just blindly accept it. You can look to the horrible rise of Somali women outmarrying/sleeping with Madows in the West as proof. Oof, even my cousins were lusting after adoons the last time I saw them

Even the darkest Indian doesn’t look black. They just look Indian. Although you guys like to deny it most Somalis look black for the most part, besides a few distinctive features.
I agree that labelling by colour is unecessary, but thats the society we live in, and our colour means everything. Some people actually want you dead because of it.
Also, Australian abos view themselves as black.
