Personally, I just felt sick if I did call him that. He was an abusive piece of shit, even tried to poison us with making me and my brother ingest soap that looked like sweets, like the guy was...to say the least...fucked up. Either way, even if he wasn't like this and he was nice, I could never call him Aabo. Just a no-go. But I have a stepmum now and I don't mind calling her Hooyo, like that's normal, I treat just like I would my real mum. I don't know, I just feel like I can't call a male step-parent my dad. Ever.

No, it's just usually your bloodline is attached to your dad, and calling someone who isn't your father your dad (when your biological father is alive) is very much rude, and besides, its not like he deserved me calling him Abti, let alone Aabo.
