I am very ignorant of the clans and subclans:

my question is, if there is a structure of clan lines, who are the leaders of these clans? what is the value of a clan? is there a hierarchy? is there a way to become a chief or king of a clan? and if there are chiefs and kings, why have they not stopped the violence or used their authority to create order.

and since clearly they have failed in maintaining order for 35 years, shouldn't those leaders be replaced, what is stopping Somalis?

damn read the post, it went nowhere lol

let me do some googling, but i did see in elections they are important...i think during the jubaland creation there was a list i found of clan elders, but not like real titles.

cheif/king/prince/warlord etc

like is the president of somalia or prime minister a clan chief?
