I’m into renaissance artists, and the old masters. I like Michelangelo a lot. I don’t really like today’s art showcased in museums, and I hope that my generation changes it.

Imo, art is one of those things where you've gotta be born with natural talent in order to seriously pursue it. Don't see at all why it'd be haram; you've been blessed with the skills so why not make use & turn it into something productive??? Really like your idea of incorporating culture into it-- keep at it!!
