I’m conflicted on my spirituality and thinking about converting to Islam

The reason why my dad’s side converted to Catholicism is kinda nuanced. It started with my Berber grandma. They were forced to assimilate into with the locals in Atlanta, Georgia. They basically chose Catholicism to spite both the caadans and maadows there. Think about it.
How many Catholics were there in Georgia during the 1920s ? Anti Catholicism was widespread at that time and on the KKK’s shit list. Catholics were actually seen as UnAmerican .
Also, at that time, Catholic Churches were racially segregated . Blacks couldn’t attend Catholic universities and colleges. The AAs today who are Catholics are very recent converts, except the creoles of Louisiana and Haiti.
They’re relationship with Jews to crap, too
And especially with my Somali grandpa, Islam was incorporated in the form of Catholicism. Lent is very similar to Ramadan. Praying 5-6 times a day. Even the dress code is basically the same. Women must wear dresses or skirts that at or close to ankle length.
Chapel veils, also commonly called mantillas, is seen as "a visible sign that the woman is under the authority of a man" and that she is submitting herself to her husband's Christ-like leadership and loving care.

@Omar del Sur You know how West African slaves of Haiti associated their traditional deities with saints from the Roman Catholic pantheon ? That’s how I see my family did. My boyfriend says that we’re that Muslims cosplaying as Catholics. Lol 😂
Even the surname my Tuareg went with was so edge lord shit. They chose McCarry. Less than 5 percent of the black population in USA have that surname.

Why are you conflicted exacltly ? What are the doubts you are having ?
I thinking about converting to Islam. Not sure how my boyfriend is going to take it. He’s a Christian egalitarian. Him and ajnabis that the traditional Muslims are violent and authoritarian. The western version of Islam is very watered down. Islamphobia is real. I’m surprised at that some ajnabis are legit afraid of Muslims. I was told by my maadow mum and grandma not to wear scarves or anything over my head to not look like those sand people. It’s not just from whites. A lot of maadows don’t like African/Arabic Muslims, either.

I thought you were muslim cause you wear the headscarf?
Well, to be fair, scarves are a cultural thing for me as well as religion. I’m telling you that Catholicism and Islam are similar, except not ran by SJW statists. My dad felt very guilty about it. I didn’t understand that the importance of what him and my grandpa did, when I was young. It was a huge deal when my grandpa did it. And in retrospect, he gave up Allah and his qabil, to only have to be sent to an insane asylum due to snapping at gaalos....... My grandma turned into Bojack Horseman.

No her father and grandfather were murtads. :stressed:
OK - a child can be a muslim if parents are murtads, doesn't usually happen, but i thought maybe OP became a muslim at some point in time. Hence why I thought what I thought first.

My only advice to her would be drop all this Black Panther, KKK, CIA, NOI, BLM stuff and focus on the books of the As-Salaf and not to delay taking the Shahada if the evidence is clear cut to her
