What if the Nile basin, instead of ending in the highlands of Ethiopia, stretched all the way down through northern Somalia and the basin ended in bossaso. How bigger could our population have been?Would northern clans be sedentary like rahanweyne? Imagine all the ancient civilisations and architecture that could be left. We would have had a much larger population to counter the habashi and oromo hoards, wouldn't of lost and would of pushed deeper into the interior.

Why you think the extension of the basin would have been inhabited by Somalis only? The Nile basin was there for thousands of years before our existence, therefore it would probably have other populations living there before Somalis. The more water you get in a place the more diverse the place would be.
