One truth I have learned in my life is that to understand, to truly learn, one must embrace the fact of ignorance. While I have learned much there is much more I do not know, and what you have learned must always be questioned, as from knowledge comes hubris.
While people point to arrogance and pride as the downfall of man, I believe hubris to be a greater ill. The prideful or arrogant man will still ask the wisdom of those he sees as learned, and perhaps disregard their advice, but the learned man full of hubris will instead assume his wisdom the greatest, and not ask for guidance at all.
I feel that the well read can sometimes be guilty of stupidities that the ignorant man would never make.
