This is much more than inter-clan warfare sxb. Never before have I seen this happening. Someone saw middle Shabelle gain momentum against Al Shabaab and they want to distract this for whatever reason. Why wasn't this happening before HSM announces offensives couple months back.

This would also try make HSM look incompetent as people will say how can he bring security in the country if his own backyard is hectic. Qabil politics aside, this is very weird
