To the millennials who grew up in the west and are now parents themselves how are you teaching your little ones somali? specially when you and the partner speak English at home.
Are our kids destined to never speak somali?
makes me sad, but teaching kids a language they have no exposure to is hard.
I know so many parents with kids of similar age and it’s rare to find ones that speak somali or parents even attempting to teach them.
We need to build schools where kids can learn. that might be an option even still I don’t see many wanting to enroll their kids.
