How long does it take to get a response from a job usually for an interview ? Also how many weeks usually pass when you know they’ll probably never respond to your application ?

I’ve applied for 20 positions and still nothing so far

It varies from company to company...

I found a great company with 3 positions I meet all the requirement in that’s paying really good. It’s been 3 weeks since I applied and now I’m slowly losing hope that I won’t get called for an interview.

Getting a good job in this city is hard af now especially with the competition.

Do you know anyone who has worked in that field for awhile or for that specific company? Have you reached out to any managers for that company on LinkedIn? It’s all about how you network. I’ve gotten most of my recent work through my network.

Nowadays you need to be applying 20 a day to even hear back from a company. Keep applying and you’re bound to hear back from at least one. It’s all a numbers game

Yes, you must be smiling, excited, positive, and act like you're confident. You'd be surprised how shit most people interview.

Shit I knew once I left my attitude probably killed it, I was very straight forward the problem was I couldn’t get over her bad attitude because I’m terrible at faking emotions.

the other 3 people there were nice but she asked 80% of the questions. Atleast I got some experience from this interview though

Her bad attitude probably came after your answers, correct? She was probably annoyed.

Make sure you're an expert at answering behavioural-competency questions. They are usually 50-75% of the questions asked; the others being technical and introductory questions. There are many themes that go under that category: adaptability, conflict, strategic thinking, results, organizational skills, etc. There's sample questions online for each category. Don't just go to interviews unprepared. Have a binder full of questions and answers/examples. They must be strong examples answering what, when, who, where, how and why? You must answer it like you're telling a story and each question must take like 3-5 minutes for you to answer. Your answers must not lose them and in plain English.

You can go back to being yourself once you're hired, but in interviews, it's like try-outs. You gotta shine. You have to show you're pleasant, nice, capable, etc. If they think you're going to be one of those employees who won't take initiative and require hand holding, you won't be hired. No one wants qof daalan working for them. I know by the first question of my hiring decision (no or let's see how they compare with future ones). If they're Indian, I will know when they are selected for an interview but when they haven't gotten the invite yet.

You just have to fake it and not take it personally, don't let your attitude be the thing standing in between you and that bag.

I think the best way to describe it is to ''just don't care''
