If only we could've grown food near those city states. With all that access to trade and knowledge from all around the world 2,000 years ago we could've easily built a long lasting civilization.

Our history is shrouded in mystery. I really want archaeological work to be funded in the country. Our history is rich. We just don't know when the cut of point for our ancient history was. There are hints from the greeks and roman historians that we were very wealthy and civilised back then and if we include the land of punt then the possibilities are endless.

Unfortunately the somalis today have reverted from their former glory much like the mongols. What i would like to know is what cause the collapse? a natural disaster, famine, a possible civil war.

We need to pay more attention to archaeology in the country. Hopefully our generation will be the ones to enjoy the uncovering of out ancient history, so that our children can learn about it.
