The year is 2009. abdullahi yusuf was chased out. Islamic courts headed by sheikh shariif and the transitional federal government now are poised for talks in which islamic courts/al shabab would be part of the government and would cease fighting the government. hence a deal was struck.

somalis in arta agreed on a 4.5 power-sharing with a total of 275 MPs. However in 2009 shariif was given an extra 275 mps and the lower House now ballooned to 550 mps.

Of which 275 where personally picked by shariif. And the other 275 by clan elders. If we are talking about a stolen election, 2009 is the biggest theft in somali history. The person that came 2nd was maslax siyad barre who had over 200 votes. Without the fake 275 mps sharif would have lost that election. In 2012 election the mps where reduced to 275 and all the mps where picked by clan elders and shariif no longer had the advantage and lost to a unknown hassan sheikh.

Shariif never won and cannot win. He is not popular and he has no clue whatsoever on how to campaign. The only way sharif can win is if he gets another 275 mps he handpicked himself.

In a Democratic Somalia sheikh sharif would’ve never became the president, but likewise time & event favored sheekha. His presidency came at the time where Islamist political ideology was more popular in the country than nationalism. Sheikh sharif was seen by the west as some sort of Opposition block to the growing influence of Alshabab, on the other hand he was an Ex ICU leader. Sheikh sharif was a test to cool down the country after the Ethiopian invasion in 2007.

If Morsi would’ve lost the country would have been in shambles. In the end they overthrew him.

you should watch this documentary. the whole thing was orchestrated by the Egyptian military they wanted an islamic figure to make the west and Israel nervous then they needed to the get people to side with them so they orchestrated food shortage/fuel shortage/ they created fake pro western secular, democratic opposition like Mohamed ElBaradei. what you have to remember is the military at the time when morsi took power was widely unpopular so they had to bide there time. So once Morsi became unpopular a lot of people where now asking for the military to step up, I mean it was a genius move and well executed.

-Getting somalia out of the transition phase and starting the federal constitution that the 2 presidents after him failed to complete .
