Americans made them lose their identity their solid identity was broken to pieces. Japan now is a capitalist dystopian Shithole they don't even got time and money to support a family and because of that their population is dying.

Many old gen Japanese from the time felt disillusioned with the rapid change in culture Japan faced post war. The country really did become a knock off western nation retaining little of their Daqhan.
The transition from brown rice to white rice during industrialization also messed them up. This was actually how Vitamin B1 was discovered.
Definitely deserves a spot on the top 5 downfalls of all-time. They should have never attacked pearl harbor... im not too educated but i believe one of the top generals was advising NOT for this to be done. They underestimated the potential response of the americans, the entire war. The united states was on edge, seeing the european wars going on and japan like complete idiots decided to have war against the united states? do you know why, because america I think stopped exporting oil to them. IDK they shouldve just invaded one of the indonesian islands but no of course not. I definitely need to research this topic more but thats my take for now.

In fact, I have a strong reason to believe that the attack on pearl harbour couldve been defended against.
OK im just gonna reference wikipedia but
Nearly 1 hour before the attack on pearl harbor, These guys at the radio station named joseph lockard and george elliot were at guard scanning the radars. at 7:02 they see over 180 planes around 150 miles away. They double checked the machines, saw it was working. Tried calling their super visor, the line was dead. Then they call up the intercept center, all the higher ups there are gone and the only guy there is mcdonald isnt a professional so that line goes dead aswell. Already suspicious right... Then mcdonald sees a plotter named tyler sitting at a table tells him the news, and tyler just says its a B-17 radar and the news reachers the original radar guys. They get off work. Basically the 180 planes on the radar was completely dismissed as a B - 17 formation. at 7:50 they see japanese planes on pearl harbour. In the the end, no one was charged.

Yes the best admiral in Japan, Isoroku Yamamoto, gave japan only 6 months after pearl harbor to win the war otherwise waa dhamaatay.
And the blame isn't entirely on Japan themselves, America under President Roosevelt banned oil and coal exports to japan in an effort to cripple the country. The Japanese Islands are very barren and could not sustain an industrial state on their own so they were given two choices, either submit to the Americans or conquer Asia and get the resources to fuel japan.

I know but they couldve just invaded the oil rich indonesian islands WITHOUT attacking pearl harbor. Although america had a lot of influence in indonesia and probably wouldve started a war. They just boosted the morale of americans significantly by attacking pearl harbor and basically cemented their fate. Yes roosevelt did stop oil and he probably knew a reaction would happen. Who knows atp, Japan had no positive chance of winning against america. They couldve had a better outcome possibly but they would still be getting the shorter end of the stick

But you forgot all those asian countries was under European rule and Philippines was an American colony. They would've have to fight the Americans some way or another so they decided to do a surprise attack thinking it would demoralise the US.
Japan and their lack of recourses fighting America, a continental sized country flush with resources that was pumping out a new ship everyday, it was over before it started.
