How many somali households don’t have fathers ? Or fathers that are active in their lives and contribute to it ?

When ever I go grocery shopping I always see Somali mothers with their kids carrying heavy bags,while cadaan families do shopping as a family including the father. Somali father's are mostly deadbeat I guess

Hmm I agree but that’s the ideal set up for the Somali man.

Even ‘young’ farahs plan on having kids abroad and leaving the kids back home.

It points to our culture praising fatherlessness as long as he provides (a small fraction of support).

Despite my parents' divorce, I used to have visits from both parents when I was in my aunt's house.
My dad (and his brothers) were an inspiration for working hard and having principles.
I have cousins who never had the chance to have a dad; I fully empathize with people who suffer from this. Having parents is indeed a privilege.
