Wait but what if you're not learned in medicine? Like say you did an accountancy degree, would you be called Dr still just bcoz you finished a doctorate?I already have my Bachelors degree. My plan is to pay off my student loan then save up for a masters. Maybe I will add on a PHD.. I quite fancy the idea of having Dr. in front of my name.

Just an advice. I feel like if you're going to pursue a higher degree, go for something like med school over a PhD; they don't make alot of money.Yep but physicians have the title MD (medical doctor). A regular PHD holder can choose to be addressed at doctor. Most of my lecturers at uni had PHD's but only 1 was addressed as Dr.
