How do you wash a macawiis?

So I recently got a macawiis delivered to me and I've been told that you should wash it before wearing it, as this gives a better feel to it. I'm not sure whether I should use a washing machine or not, can you give me some advice?

normal wash cycle, but i do a softer approach on the dryer

Whatever u do, do not wash it with other clothes in the machine. I learnt my lesson in my 20s as a young mom
