How did your parents dress?

Looking at my mom and dad old pictures, Im shocked how they use to dress. My mother with no hijab and skirt and dad with a huge afro even tho he hates them.

Mother = no hijab, long dresses/skirts
Father = huge afro/jewfro. bellbottoms (70s pants)

They both were lucky enough to get an education, free healthcare, and my dad even got to study in the United States for free. The irony in all of this is that they did a complete 180, my sister started wearing hijab at 4 and I wasn't aloud to wear basketball shorts or have long hair at all.

They hate talking about it, every time I bring up the way they used to dress and try to always change the subject

Someone has to do some investigation on what happened. Not even arabs who escaped war are like this. My sister is not allowed to wear tight dress or jeans but mother wore same things

Mom: no hijab and short skirts (tbh I feel very objectified being pressured to cover like this now, I just have negative thoughts about everything) and I feel I am the fault in everything that is bad in this world.

Dress like this girls if you want to be modest atleast. Wearing all black abaya aint cute wallahi. Thats for old heads or when making pilgrimage in hajj. Get a sense of fashion.
