How can my mum visit me in the UK?

I'm from London and my mum is living in Somalia
I'm 22 and I should know how to work things out for myself but I've never booked a flight overseas for myself nor do I know the visa stuff
Can anyone tell me how my mum can see me here for a holiday this year? I'm so confused by all the information
First you need to provide your somali passport, then pay a bunch of fees, then prove you will go back to Somalia? How am I meant to prove that?

There is practically no chance of getting a tourist visa, however you can apply to get a family visa if she wants to live here permanently but even that is a process and takes time and money (also isn’t guaranteed, especially if you don’t work a good job/times). You’d also have to prove she depends on you to live. You’d be better off going to Somalia or meeting in a third country ie Kenya, Turkey or Dubai. Does she hold a Somali passport ie has she ever lived in the UK?

Ive never heard it being done in america. Im not form UK but from reading online it seems tough. Folks from UK hopefully see this and can answer. Good luck

Your best bet is to go on the Gov website. They’ll detail all relevant information you require. Because she is from Somalia it will be a bit of a longer process, compared to someone that is from Australia for example. You will also need to provide proof that you can care for her financially whilst she is in the UK. Good luck brother.
