This is a 266 year old description of somali clothing probably based on an older account.

Their dress chiefly consists of a cotton piece of cloth, which covers them only from the girdle to a little below the knee, all the rest of their body being naked; except the king, and nobles of both sexes, who wear a kind of loose garment, which covers the whole body, and a cap over the head: all the rest go bare-headed and bare-foot. They are, however, very fond, the women especially, of adorning their necks, arms, wrists, and ankles, with bracelets of glass, amber, and other such trinkets

The oldest drawing of a somali around 222 years ago.
