one can assume he thought he was an American as he came of age. Then he committed a crime and at the processing he probably he heard this for the first time “The detainee is a foreign citizen”
Apparently a lot of Geeljire parents don’t take care of the kid’s citizenship application. It is a bit expensive ($2600). It’s kind of difficult when you have freaken 9 kids. So they completely forget about it. Child turns 18 and stupidly commits a felony with his homeboys. What happens then ? He loses the chance to apply for citizenship. Now you become the property of ICE. You’re done. No matter how much times he says “bro! This can’t be. I grew up here. I don’t here at 2 years of age “

Walahi about a decade ago it was rare for families to travel outside of the US. One of the parents would travel.
keep in mind that airfares a drastically different from someone in Europe and who’s traveling within Europe and even to Africa.
An average family here is 8 plus 2 parents. You’re looking at $15k on airfare. Just to get to Africa.
Therefore, there was no need for a Passport.
I was a witness to a dude, who, when he turned 18 he thought he was a “gangsta”. Him and his friends robbed a cadaan girl. They all got arrested. We talking about 4 Somali dudes. They all were around 18-24. Two of them discovered that they weren’t American citizens. When the two came out of prison one had to fight with lawyers to plead mercy to obtain his citizenship.
The other was grabbed by ICE. They let him out to wait deportation. He ran into Canada. Even Canada rejected him now because their systems are open to one another and they saw that he robbed someone. Now he is waiting deportation in Canada.

Mashalah,most ciyaal suuq Somalis in North America need to be deported for greater good of fixing our ruined reputation, they belong there where drug and alcohol is reserved for elite politicians and rich Somalis back home.

Reer xamars and Barawanis are some of the most hardcore somalis in America.
I love deportation stories. It gives me the same feeling as wrapping yourself in a busto in front of the fireplace on a cold winter's night drinking hot cocoa.
