During my teenage years dhaqancelis was the common norm in my city and even the wider community ( im sure it's still the same) and not much has changed.

I was briefly sent to Riyadh then Nairobi where i was locked (2 years) in a quran school with shackles. Macaalin jir (rat) was the teacher and he was a serious man.

But from the dhaqancelis atleast I managed to learn af Somali and Quran.

Have you guys been to dhaqancelis and did you guys reform or gained anything?

I did not reform lakiin :denzelnigga:

I was sent as a small child with no parents, for the most part, i already knew of the basic system of the clan structure. What Somalia did was just amplified my hate for the qabil system. I stayed in a small town about 100 km from the nearest major city.

I went to somalia at the age of 11 and stayed there for 1 year and a half,it wasnt dhaqan celis per se,all i was doing was chilling, running amuck, and learning some quran on the side

Never, but i want next summer when im graduated, go to somalia for a couple months to learn my culture & language.

But whats the difference with dhaqan celis? Is that only for children, or is it for problematic kids?

There two types of dhaqancelis
  • One where the kids are good but are only sent to learn culture or language.
  • Then another one where the kids are problematic where child is about to be sucked into drugs and party lifestyle or has already been sucked into it. So they are sent to a different environment hoping they will reform (few succeed).

Dhaqancelis is just glorified its just lazy parents if youre kid is Young 8-10 than it might work But if they are teenagers

:gucciwhat:

What Somali parents should be doing is instead of Shipping em off to Africa

Keep a track who they are hanging out with and in most cases just move out from shitty neighbourhoods

I was sent to Mombasa for a couple years where I finished the Quran. I both appreciate and despise the fact that I went to Kenya. First of all I didn't need to be taken to learn Somali because I spoke better Somali when I was 10 than now. I was already half way through the Quran at the start of year 6 so I could've finished it in London SMH.
However I learnt a lot from my grandma and all her relatives that came to us from Somalia. Sometimes we housed up to 30 niggas as my grandmas family is so large. It was a nice experience but a waste of valuable years of my childhood. Atleast it did its job and I'm not off the rails today.
