It's just the UK decided it wanted out of a economic and political union.

So instead of having to consult other European countries whether were allowed to go ahead with specific policies incase it breaches rules, the UK can decide on it's own. In a nutshell.

True, especially energy and food. Energy shortage is a Europe-wide issue at the moment.

Rising food costs is due to mainly Brexit, and also a shortage of lorry drivers.
